Behind the Look, Bridal Hair & Makeup on Monica for her intimate at-home wedding in South Surrey.
A detailed view of the bridal hair and makeup I did on my Bride Monica both for her bridal trial and her wedding day.

The Wedding Day
If you’ve ever thought about hosting your wedding at home, you will want to take a few pages of Monica’s book. She threw one hell of a wedding and did an incredible job sourcing all her decor.
Every detail was meticulously thought out, from the beautiful personalized wooden seating cards to her chargers, to her afternoon tea station in honour of her Husband’s Grandmother.
To shield her guests from the afternoon sun, Monica sourced large outdoor Gazebo tents from Amazon. This is where their meals were served on rectangular banquet tables that cascaded down the centre of the tents.
The ceremony took place indoors, where she used acrylic ghost chairs for guest seating, a savvy trick to make the space look larger and less cluttered.

The Bridal Trial
At her bridal trial Monica expressed her love for Charlotte Tilbury and the “Pillow Talk” look, so naturally, that is the look we created for her, paired with sleek wavey hair. I used a combination of the Pillow Talk Eyeshadow Palette and the Exxagger-eyes Eyeshadow Palette on her eyes, along with the Eyes to Mesmerise in shade Pillow Talk.
For her flawless complexion, I prepped her skin with Embryolisse Lait Creme Concentrate and used a hydrating undereye mask by Patchology to help her concealer stay put throughout the day. I then used the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter to give her skin a radiant look. I topped that with my go-to Face Atelier Foundation and Shape Tape Concealers.

The Wedding Day Makeup
Monica wanted to keep her makeup natural yet with a hint of glamour to it for her big day. She wanted to stay away from bold colours as she was having an intimate daytime wedding. Yet she wanted something that would compliment her dress and still stand out in photographs.
While we loved the rosy hues, and shimmery lids from the Pillow Talk Look, for the wedding day we decided to go all matte with the eyeshadows and stick to browns and taupes on her lids and a warm nude lip, while maintaining the same hairstyle as the trial.

Overall, we were both so pleased with how the two looks came out and that we had the opportunity to play around with a bit of colour during her trial. The warm colours against her white dress and the greenery in her bouquet worked well complimenting each other. It was a classic, timeless look that she will always remember and one that I always enjoy doing on any bride.
