First Impressions: Quickie Product Reviews

Marc Jacobs Not-So-Re(Marc)Able Full Cover Foundation

It was actually by fluke that I stumbled upon the MJ Re(Marc)Able Foundation, and while I was very impressed with their colour spectrum (those of you that know me by now know that I am damn near impossible to colour match) I was not as impressed with the formula itself.

If you like CAKE, then you will LOOOOVE this foundation.

They aren’t lying, its FULL coverage, and you really don’t need much, a little goes a VERY long way. Best to apply it with a buffing or stippling sort of brush, versus the traditional foundation brush.

But even then, I just found it SO heavy. It does have remarkable coverage, that’s for sure. However, the payoff is not worth the Barbie-esque façade.

The finish is Matte, which serves a purpose depending on what you like, or what look you’re going for, but ultimately it looks heavy and cakey. Especially over time, I found the longer it was on my face the worse it looked.

I even tried priming my skin with the Perfecting Coconut Face Primer and the Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer, but I just couldn’t bring myself to love it.

I did love the bottle design though; I give them props for that.

I will still keep it, as I said the colour match was spot on, but it’s certainly not an every-day wear foundation.

Sorry MJ :(
