First Impressions: Quickie Product Reviews

Charlotte Tilbury’s NEW Magic Night Cream

Charlotte Tilbury is an amazing makeup artist and business woman. I will admit, I buy her products out of sheer love for HER, not necessarily how good they are. But her Magic Night Cream is pretty bad-ass.

It retails for $165 CAD/£100 and you get 1.7oz. Same size as the original Magic Cream and same packaging. According to Charlotte it contains 8 Powerhouse Ingredients:

  • Winter Daphne Stem Cell Extract
  • Time Released Retinol Molecules
  • Frangipani (the signature Charlotte scent)
  • Vitamin E
  • Olus Oil
  • Castor Seed Oil
  • Bionymph Peptide (the magical, patented ingredient that’s said to be the end all be all of anti-aging ingredients in
  • Charlotte’s skin care line-up)
  • Second Skin Red Algae Marigel

Initially when I first tried the cream I did not love the texture or smell, those were the only two drawbacks I had about it.

After a week of consistent use, I found a noticeable difference in my skin’s texture and overall appearance. Especially the areas around my nose where I have (or had) enlarged pores. I was actually quite amazed at how well it worked. It even helped with some minor scars I had from old pimples I had popped. It’s SO hydrating and nourishing; it has definitely become a staple in my skin care regimen.

As I mentioned above, the only cons are the texture and the smell. The cream is VERY sticky and tacky. It’s similar in texture to an ointment, so it’s more of a night mask than a cream. On the flip side, because of the tackiness of the cream, you only need a pea-sized amount for your entire face, so one jar will last a long time.

The smell is rather odd; to me it’s almost like a medicinal frangipani scent, rather than her traditional mix of frangipani, camellia and rose. I don’t care for the smell, but thankfully once it’s on my skin I can’t smell it.

Overall, 9/10, will definitely continue using it.
